We Advocate, Support, & Create
Madeleine Stevens, the founder of MK Stevens Music, is a board certified music therapist and special education advocate who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Master's Degree in Music Therapy from Texas Woman's University. Madeleine has been practicing as a board certified music therapist for 5 years and recently re-certified to continue practicing. Alongside her private practice, Madeleine contracts with Charlie Health, a virtual therapy company whose goal is to create "a world without suicide," as a creative arts group facilitator where she supports adolescents and adults in virtual IOPs (Intensive Outpatient Programs) with music therapy.
As a neurodivergent professional herself, Madeleine is deeply passionate about supporting clients and caregivers through the IEP/ARD/504 process and advocates for creating a neuro-inclusive and neurodiversity affirming environment for clients, caregivers, and other professionals she interacts with. Her professional experience includes a wide variety of populations and goals: Neurodivergent children and adolescents, mental health, anxiety, depression, substance use disorder, community based therapy, caregiver supports, music education and curriculum creation, self-advocacy techniques, and more.
Madeleine is specially trained in a wide range of therapeutic approaches, including supporting the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities, multicultural approaches, trauma-informed practices, guided imagery and music, relaxation and mindfulness techniques, grief and bereavement, and addiction counseling. In addition to her training, she has presented at various music therapy conferences, covering topics such as ADHD, neuro-affirming practices, and effective strategies for working with neurodivergent clients and colleagues. Outside of her work, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Poppy, quilting, and being with her friends and family.
